Hour 1 Of GT6

I got GT6 for Christmas, and got to spend an hour tonight playing it. I have a few things to say about it.

1. I have a Honda Fit. I didn't want a Honda Fit.

2. They made the menu even harder to understand. I'm sure it was hard to come up with a menu concept both harder to understand the GT5, and more difficult to navigate as well, but they did it.

3. I drove the GT500 for a bit. Damn, that thing is overpowered.

4. Everything looks and feels like GT5, but just a little bit better everywhere.

I think I'm the only person in the world who actually liked GT5's menu system. It had its problems (mostly slow loading of GT Auto and the inability to change cars within some of the menus), but I really liked the classy look of it. To me GT6's menus don't come even close.

Your First hour sounds exactly how my first hour went.

1) If they gave me 30K, why the hell do I have to buy a Honda Fit?

2) I didn't hate the menu layout as I was able to find everything I wanted. I liked the fact that I had full menu's for the garage and GT Life etc. instead of just the icons from GT5.

3) The GT500 is very overpowered and a beast even with Traction control. It also understeers a lot (duh) on autumn ring. Holy crap the sound is terrible on it though. I can't believe how far off the mark it is, especially for a new car.

It's a shame we can't pick any car as a first car. I was thinking that's one of the best feature of GT.
In the old days i used to start my career with Prelude or 80's RX7. Now you can't.

I decided I'm not going to buy this game, because when I buy a game to drive cars, I don't want to go through the process of taking repetitive tests in order to get the cars I already paid for when I bought the game.

I also enjoy run-on sentences.

That was one of my favorite parts of old GT. I wasn't a big fan of Japanese cars, but it was fun trying to pick the best car for the money. For me it was usually a 3rd gen Supra or R31(?) Skyline.

You can bet that Honda paid for product placement to make the Fit the only car you can buy at first. I'm taking mine as far as I can (just finished National A class races last night), but I could have sold it immediately and then bought anything else within budget.

I tell you what's overpowered, and tail-happy to boot: The Aston One-77 you get to drive in the Goodwood hillclimb. The LMPs are harder to power-on oversteer than that thing.

So far I've only bought one non-Honda Fit, non go-kart car—the Plymouth AAR 'Cuda—and I'm trying to get away with only using prize cars as much as possible instead of buying. The One-77 is on my short list of cars to buy when I clear the career mode and start playing in the sandbox.
